Pompeii (26.000 inhabitants), is located less than 30 km from Napoli, along the slopes of Vesuvius, fields Flegrei volcanic area,  in a scenario “among the most charming and famous in the world”.
Pompeii, today's modern and dynamic city, has ancient origins and is considered one of the largest and most important examples of Roman civilization, originally stood on a spur about 40 m, it was born in prehistoric times as a result of a lava flow emitted from the nearby Vesuvius.

The modern city was developed after the construction of the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary of Pompeii while the ancient Pompeii, buried one from about six meters of ash and lapilli (but not lava) as a result of a terrible eruption of Vesuvius (in 'August 79 AD).... continue
